Prayer Request from Amy
Our house is showing tomorrow at 10:00 am. It has been on the market for 6 months and we are planning on moving December 22. So, it would be a great burden lifted for it to sell. We have had very few showing over the last three months, but it only takes one person to see the house and want to buy it. Would you please pray for the showing tomorrow to be the one? I am boldly asking that God sell our house. I know He is listening to my prayer and He will listen to yours as well. Thank you for your support.
I believe in God's plan for us.

Lisa's Updates: 12/4/07
Hello Loved Ones!!
Thought I would give you all a quick update on Randy. Still no activity on his bank acct, hasn't been any since 11/13. I contacted the MPD Chief & asked him what our next step would be. He recommened putting a missing person's report on our local news. He contacted them today, then told them to contact me, which they did, they wanted to interview family members so Aunt Martha came to the clinic & did an interview, unfortunately they also interviewed me but maybe I was helpful in someway. I haven't seen Aunt Martha cry that hard ever. Sherrill Wayne came over to be supportive to her & he lost it several times. They are both regretting things said & unsaid, as we all are & do. Those of you in this area watch KSWO Channel 7 news tonight, they will be showing pictures of Randy, along with a physical description & info on his auto. Our next step will be the local newspapers & radio stations + posters. We will wait a day or 2 to see if the interview generates any info.
Sherrill's PET scan is on Dec 11 for sure, will keep you all updated on him.
Mom is doing ok and as for me I have a massive headache at this time.
Love to you all,
Lisa
2nd update:
Well don't ever let anyone tell you that prayers are not answered!! Aunt Martha just got off the phone w/Randy. He met a man @ a coffee shop in Waurika who was looking for a hand to help on his ranch in Durant, so he left with him. Just got his phone turned back on today & thought he might ought to check in. I am on the phone now w/KSWO trying to get the story stopped & then will call the police station. I asked Aunt Martha if she told him how upset we had all been, she said she told him she wasn't for sure if any of us would speak to him when he came back, but that she was pretty sure that we all still love him.
Talked to the reporter, she is going to run the story anyway, have to fill the time slot but will make it a story about family & love & concern. Have also contacted the MPD & have them pull the missing person's report!!
Gotta go,
Love to you all,
Lisa

Lisa's Update 11/30/07
Thought I would give you all an update on the happenings around here.
Randy is still MIA or AWOL, whichever way you want to look at it. There has been no activity on his bank acct since Nov 5th & needless to say we are all quite concerned. She will contact the bank again after the 1st to see if he withdraws any money & where. Aunt Martha & Sherrill went down to the Marlow PD & filed a missing person report on him, Tuesday (Happy BD to Sherrill) so now there is a statewide APB out on him. I understand that this is normal behavior for Randy but w/his health concerns now, it isn't wise or good that he did this. He hasn't been seen at any of his usual coffee hang outs or contacted any of his friends. They are contacting Aunt Martha asking her if she has heard from him yet. We really need prayers on his behalf.
Now for more bad news, Sherrill Wayne has been diagnosed with a tumor in his right upper lung lobe. He has known this for about a month but didn't want to worry everyone & ruin their Thanksgiving holidays. I went with him for his CT scan which confirmed the spot discovered by his chest x-ray. He has a tentative appointment for a PET scan on Dec 11th to get a more defined & refined look at it. At this time the CT results stated that it was "fibrotic" but did recommend a PET scan. Dr. King is managing his care along with his nosy, intrusive cousin Lisa. The tumor is round and smooth in appearance which is indicative of non-malignancy. After the PET scan it will be decided as to whether a biopsy is needed or just monitoring for the next few months. If you all would like to mail him a card at 813 W. Seminole Marlow, OK. Aunt Martha took the news well after she pinned me to the wall & told me not to hide things from her & not to lie to her!! Boy they make em tough in this family!! He is also accepting treatment for his bi-polar-ism. At last another in this family admits that we have a problem w/depression & that quite a few of us need help. So more prayers are needed!!
Mom has been ok so far this week. No more chest pains, she says I scared them completely out of her but am watching her closely as well. Again more prayers!!
It was such a pleasure to see all of you last Saturday. There is nothing to help re-light your fires, re-kindle your hope and re-fresh your faith than a good dose of a family gathering filled with love. Mom did really well I think, we talked Sunday and went over who gave her the gifts and whether she should send out thank you notes, told her not to worry about them, you all knew she was thankful. I only had to tell her 4 times in the course of a 20 minute phone call who gave her the pajama's (Amanda).
Well will close & get back to work, my love to you all.

Prayer Request for Minnie
11/28 - The cardiologist's nurse visited w/her yesterday & agreed that she needs to be seen, so they set an appt for 12/18 in Chickasha UNLESS mom's has another episode, then she is to come directly to Dr. Williams office & they will work her in. She had a small twinge last night but seems more tired than usual. I am going to call the cardiologist & see if he wants us to run an EKG here at the clinic on her. I believe that she won't make it to the 18th that she will be seen before then. Will keep you all updated

Minnie's 80th Birthday
On Saturday, we all celebrated Minnie's 80th Birthday. There were about 30 in attendance. We had lots of good food to eat and great company to share. Some played 42 and skipbo while others visited. We missed all of you who could not make it. Enjoy the slideshow.

Our Grandma Minnie is turning eighty.
We'd like to tell you about this great lady.
~
I would love for you a song to sing.
But instead I will tell you a few of our favorite things.
~
Minnie has alway dressed to impress with dangly earrings and fancy high heels
Turquoise jewelry, painted nails, hair done tall with all the frills.
~
She can cook, she can bake, she can clean a house tip-top and neat.
But on her couch you better not prop your feet.
~
Her garden is always full of flowers to admire and veggies to share.
With lots of things to can, her cupboards were never bare.
~
She is our grandmother we love her so dear.
To our sweet Grandma Minnie, let's all give a cheer.

Lisa's Updates 10/22/07
Here is a new update on Randy's cancer, just got off the phone w/Ray & he corrected some of my errors. Yes Dr. Anderson did remove all of the grapefruit size tumor which was growing on the outside of the liver so we were correct in that. The large tumor that is still inside Randy's liver is the one that the ct scan reported as growing 2 more centimeters since July. The center of the tumor is dead but the out edges are still active and obviously growing. This is the tumor that further treatment cannot be performed on due to it damaging the liver more than helping it. The rest of my info was basically correct!! I talked to Randy at services yesterday am and he said that he is starting to have pain, a really bad burning sensation in his nerve endings from his waist to his knees and sleep is hard at times.
No other news for now, except need RSVP's to Aunt Martha & mom's bd celebrations from those of you who haven't so I can get an accurate head count for the reservations. Aunt Martha's on Saturday Nov 3 @ 5:00, eat @ 5:30 and mom's on Nov 24 same time same place, Fisherman's Cove.
Lot of love to you all,
Lisa

Lisa Update 10/18
Well time for an update on the family in this area:
Randy went to see his specialist's yesterday & his ct-scan revealed that his lymph nodes under the liver are now swelling, the oncologist did not come right out to say that the cancer
has spread to his lymph glands but Ray & Aunt Martha both came away w/that impression. Also we were told at 1 point that they had removed all of the tumors and we were informed incorrectly. They have not removed the 1 large tumor and it has now grown 2 more centimeters and is now an 8, they apparently removed the outer part of the tumor which had tried to adhese to his colon. They have been able to kill the outer edges but not the inner core. According to the oncologist further radiation treatments would do more damage to the liver than the cancer is right now. There is an exprimental treatment not approved by the FDA but it is NOT A CURE, it would only slow the cancer down and at this time I don't know what Randy's thoughts are on that. NO time period was mentioned.
Now Danny and I discussed mom's 80th birthday last night and we reached the decision that for those who would like to join mom for her 80th celebration of life, we are meeting at the Fisherman's Cove in the reserve on Nov 24th (Saturday after Thanksgiving). If there are enough of us we can reserve the private room upstairs, I am calling them today to get the info. Mom loves their prime rib and it is where we celebrated her 70th birthday and just this year Uncle Fred's 70th birthday celebration was there. I will email everyone w/an update on the time.
Now shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, this is a secret so be discreet!! Aunt Martha's kids are giving her a SURPRISE 75TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION and it is to take place on Nov. 3rd at (can you guess) you got it FISHERMAN'S COVE!! Boy they are making a killing off of our family. I found this out last night from Lisha after I had talked to Danny about mom's. I couldn't tell Lisha b/c my phone was beeping indicating that I had talked entirely too much on it last night and ran that blasted battery down. Lisha said that a time has not been decided but that they would get back to me on it, probably like mom somewhere mid afternoon to evening. (Update: Ok just heard from Ray, the dinner for Auntie Martha is not really a secret anymore but it will take place Nov 3rd @ 5:00, if any of you who are coming could RSVP back to me or Ray or Lolo so we can get a semi good head count to see if we qualify for the private upstairs room we would greatly appreciate it!!)
November is a busy month for our family, I know that Sherrill Wayne, Trish and Zach are also celebrating their birthdays. I am sure that I have forgotten someone but not on purpose.
Gotta go,
Love to you all,
Lisa

On the Move
The past few months have been filled with unknowns for us. Rob decided in May to leave the field of education. For the past five months, we have been searching for a career change for him. It has been exciting, disappointing, scary, and exhausting. On Sunday, Rob left for Oklahoma. He has accepted a position with Newpark Drilling Fluids as a mud engineer. You all know Dad spent 25 years as a mud engineer spending the last nine years at Newpark. Rob will spend the next eight weeks between Houston and Oklahoma City going to school. The kids and I will stay here in Colorado until the house sells or he is done with school, whichever comes first. After that, we will probably settle in Ada, Ok. It will be a central location for Rob's work area. It was a very tearful goodbye on everyone's part. Rylan will have the hardest adjustment with Rob being gone. He repeatedly said, "I need Daddy here" "I can't let Daddy go". It was very heartbreaking. We humbling ask that you pray for our family as we are apart from one another. Pray for our house to sell quickly. Pray for this transition time.
Thank you. Amy

Lisa's Updates 9/24/07
Well sorry I can't write any better new on a Monday am but thought I would give you all a family update.
1st of all our household is in mourning, my youngest male cat, "Little Guy" was hit and killed this Saturday. Have been looking for him and just received a phone call from the Animal Control Officer that she had found him and had taken him away before we could see him. I will have a good cry tonight, not here at work. You all know how I feel about my cats!! They are people too. We had only had him for a year, he was a wild kitten living under our bushes and we coaxed him inside and tamed him. He was beautiful, solid gray with a white chest and white paws. My poor baby!!
Now onto Randy, he is beginning to experience liver pain at night again. Had a very rough night Saturday, finally broke down Sunday and asked for a Percodan from Aunt Martha Sunday. Called her this am and she said he had a better night last night and was still resting. His appt isn't until Oct 17th but told him I would set him 1 up with Dr. K if the pain increased.
Also thought you all might need to know that Uncle Fred is experincing some health problems related to his prostrate again. I know his count or PSA test is off and he is having other problems and that he has a followup with his doctor but am not for sure when. I will let you all know more when I know more. You all know how close mouthed he can be when it comes to his health.
As for my dear darling mother!! She has been really depressed because her car is broke down, the motor is gone & she is without transportation and she is worthless, useless and etc, etc, etc without her car. She will never drive it again because Kenneth is going to pay his money to have the motor replaced (I asked if it wasn't his money that bought it in the first place and isn't it your money together, but I was just being smart mouthed!!). She is refusing to go to the beauty shop because I or Aunt Martha would have to take her!! I washed her hair for her Saturday. Then she told me that she was going insane and loosing her mind because when Danny called her Saturday, she set the phone down to go let Kenneth in and forgot that he was on the phone. I tried to tell her that we all forget things when we get distracted but didn't do any good. I really dread this winter when she can't get out. I really wish Kenneth would relent and let her have a cat, she wants one so badly and they are so good to aleve depression, anxiety lower blood pressue, etc.
Okay well i have properly depressed all of you so guess I will get to work.
Love to you all,
Lisa

Lisa's Update 9/13/07
Thought I would give you an update, let's see, where to begin:
Randy came in to see Dr. K, seems to be feeling much better & his swelling has gone down. His incision is almost healed but is fighting the restraints of so many medications. Dr. K agreed to eliminate some, seemed happier about that. He returns to see his onocologist, Dr. Parker on October 17. He will have a ct scan that morning, blood work & office visit that afternoon. He will be able to tell us if the tumors have started to return and how the other cancer is progressing.
Kenneth is feeling better after having his pace maker replaced but still threaten him every once in awhile w/a really strong magnet just to keep him in line.
Mom on the other hand has been really depressed this week. For one thing her car is broken down and it will be next week before the mechanic that Kenneth trusts will be able to work on it and she just feels useless. Also the weather was a bit on the cloudy side so her depression returns w/out the sunshine. Really dread the winter for her when she can't get outside. You all might think of calling her just to chat, it really cheers her up but she also won't remember a lot of the conversation so don't tell her anything that you want her to pass on to others and on the other side of that coin, sometimes she remembers bits & pieces of conversations puts them together ALL WRONG and repeats it to everyone!! God love her and so do I!! She seems even more fragile to me than usual but then I am so big and loud!! Okay enough said on that subject.
Will be sending Amy some pics soon of Trinity, Tanner, Trish & my visit to the zoo this last weekend. Quite interesting so watch the family blog.
Gotta go,
Love to you all,

God Bless Our Soldiers
Hi, thank you for the mail, it means a lot. My name is SPC Gross I apologize for this letter being typed, but my writing hand is broken at the moment. Getting mail here of any sort is definitely a morale boost, so what you are doing is a great service to us.
Well lets see, I am a military brat, born in Hawaii, raised in Ohio, and currently stationed in Ft. Bragg, NC with the 82nd Airborne Division. I am twenty four years old and I have been in the army for about three years. I am going to the promotion board for sergeant next month. I hope it works out well for me.
I am recently divorced, with no kids. I like to read and on occasion I enjoy drawing and writing as well. I haven't been able to indulge myself in either of the latter because of my hand being broken, c'est la vie. I don't typically read magazines so much as fiction novels by the likes of Dean Koontz, Stephen King and Ted Dekker.
I apologize for this being so short, but my email is nathan.gross2@gmail.com if you ever feel like shooting me an email. I must be off to work, thank you again for the work you're doing, you're truly a blessing.

Lisa's Updates 8/29/07
Here is the latest update on Randy. Went to see the city docs yesterday. Met w/Dr. Parker (reminded me so much of Russell) who did confirm that he has both forms of liver cancer. There was much discussion on treatment options for the bile duct cancer, but unfortunately the only treatment available is chemo & it has been found to reduce the growth of the tumors only but there is no cure available at this time, also the chemo only works in about 1/3 of those who receive it. MD Anderson cancer center in Houston was mentioned but due to Randy's Hep C he would not be accepted as a candidate for any of their programs, as well as the cancer center in Tulsa. At this time Randy is not showing any symptoms of the bile duct cancer, which will eventually block his bile ducts, his bilirubin blood test is normal. He did state that the symptoms of this cancer usually appear within a year but again he stated that each individual is different and it depends on how aggressive the cancer is. He also gave us the symptoms to watch for so that we will know when the cancer has begun to progress, he will have abnormal bilirubin results, jaundice, weight loss, fatigue, weakness and abdominal pain. He also told Randy to concentrate on his quality of life, not quanitity at this time. As for Dr. Davis (the surgeon) he confirmed that he did remove the whole grapefruit size tumor and the other tumors were killed w/chemo. He removed 25% of Randy's liver which was already dead. So right now we are unsure of how that cancer is progressing. The only way to tell is to do another ct scan or mri which will be discussed w/Dr. K to see if one can be ordered down here so they don't have to travel to the city so often. Dr. Davis was unaware of the 2nd cancer being diagnosed as it was found after Randy left Baptist. He goes back to see his oncologist (Parker) in 3 mths time, doesn't need to return to see Dr. Davis unless he wants too. His incision is healing but there are a couple of spots that haven't healed completely which will be watched. Dr. Davis worked on those yesterday much to Loetta's dismay. It was kind of gross!! As for now Randy has gained a pound since leaving the hospital and his outlook is good. First thing he said was that he was going to go look for a job. The updates will probably slow down for a while unless things begin to progress, so lets pray that the updates are few & far between!!
My next update will be to let you all know how Pop's procedure progressed.
Love to you all,
Lisa

Lisa Update 8/27
Now for an update on poor, poor DL. Found out that my little bro is going to have to have hernia surgery. He apparently ripped himself a good one and now according to him can't do anything at work but DELEGATE!! Which I told him was a trait that seems to run in this family!! I wanted to point out that hernia's is what "OLD PEOPLE" get when the ole insides start wearing out but since I have my first arthritic now on my right index finger, will just keep my mouth shut for once!! Hard to imagine isn't it.
Go w/Randy & Aunt Martha to see the city doc's tomorrow. Will send you all an update on that.
Gotta go but did have a very pleasant surprise yesterday, Danny, Diane & Shai stopped by on their way to Bartlesville!!
Love to you all,
Lisa

Lisa Update 8/21
Well thought I would let you all know that mom came in to see Dr. Sabedra today and he gave her a clean bill of health. Said she was doing really good. She always does better in the summer when she can stay out & work in the yard, winter is when she does a step back especially w/her depression. So that is one weight lifted off our shoulders for a while.
According to Aunt Martha, Randy had another really bad night last night. Didn't sleep but maybe 3 hours, in a lot of pain & those drated hiccups have started up again. Have put a message back to Dr. K to see what we can do. Will keep you all updated.
Love to you all,
Lisa
Lisa Update 8/20
Quick update from Marlow town:
Ray's surgery was postponed for a couple of days last week due to poison ivy but as far as I know he is on the road to recovery & surgery went well.
Randy was in to see Dr. K today, has really had a rough 24 hours. He is beginning to get rashes that Dr. K said would come & go & is directly related to his liver function. They might itch but might not also. He said not to worry w/them unless they form blisters. His infection is worse, last week the spot was about the size of a pencil eraser, this week try the size of a ping-pong ball & yes I assisted him in helping to drain it!! Good thing I don't have a weak stomach!! He did a culture since the hospital has failed to supply us w/the results from his stay up there. He is starting him on iv antibiotic until Thursday, when we should know what kind of infection he is fighting. Trying to avoid putting Randy in the hospital if he can. If Randy develops fever or chills he is to call me or Dr. K & will probably go straight to Duncan Regional, not stopping at GO or collecting his $200 on the way. He had a very rough pain filled night & Dr. K seems to think it is related to the infection in his system. Unless circumstances change I will be going w/them next Tuesday to see his city docs. Will continue to keep you all updated, you will know almost as soon as I know.
Mom & Pop are doing ok, not great but ok!!
One of my cats is very ill & had to go see the vet today, he has a virus!! Poor baby.
Gotta go,
Luv ya,
Lisa

Update 8/17/07
Just a short update, not much to report except that Randy has appts w/his oncologist, Dr. Parker Tusday, Aug 28th & also will see his surgeon, Dr. Davis that same day. They will then put their heads together & see if there are any treatment options available to Randy. This will be a good time to get our questions answered. He is still very weak but pushing himself a little harder than he should, especially in out lovely Oklahoma August weather (yech).
Mom & Pop seem to be doing a bit better, bless mom's heart, she seems so very frail to me anymore. Just want to put her in a box & protect her.
Not much else to report, do have a special request if you all could say a prayer for Zach, he seems to have reached a crossroads in his life & I am so very afraid he will make the wrong decision.
Gotta go, stay as cool as you all can, know I am trying especially since I had to get my ac worked on this last week.
Love to you all,
Lisa

Letters from Lisa 8/13/07
Here is the latest Randy update, he was released from the hospital and came home Saturday. He has lost quite a bit of weight and is struggling w/weakness, for some reason he thinks that he should just be able to jump up & be all well again. That trait seems to run all thru this family. He was in to Dr. King this am to have his incision checked, it is healing well & has 1 small area that is still draining, he will be back next Monday for another follow-up visit. He is receiving home health care at this time to help cut down on his exposure to germs even though he refuses to stay away from the High Chapparell (his favorite coffee drinking place). Still very weak especially in his arms, still running a low grade fever, slightly bloated in the stomach area. Tried to make it thru church services Sunday but it was too much for him. As for all of you who are wondering about what is next, I can't seem to cut thru the red tape surrounding all of the city docs to get a straight answer as to whether there will be future treatments or a time line, all the questions that we are asking each other every day. They all say they are waiting for him to recover from this surgery! I am so sorry that I can't be of more help.
.
Also thought you all should know that Raymond is having knee surgery tomorrow, should be on an out-patient basis. I think I heard scope mentioned. Will let you know how that goes.
.
Mom has been under the weather with a stomach virus + sore throat.
Other than that, all is well I guess.
Love to you all
Lisa

Randy: Update 8/7
There isn't much to report as his treating physician has left for 2 weeks, he is still in the hospital in the city, his blood clots & pneumonia hasn't completely resolved and now his incision is infected. He continues to have a wonderful upbeat attitude & outlook according to Aunt Martha. He appetite has returned & he is eating well. So right now you all know as much as I do. Will let you know if anything new occurs.
Love ya,
Lisa

Triumph & A Little Tragedy from Lisa
Well guess what, this a good news email from me, I know, I know, it happens so rarely, so don't fall out of your chairs or faint!!
Mom & Kenneth were re-stored to the church this am. They had only attended services once this year ^ had just gradually fallen away. I know mom's health has a lot to do with it & Kenneth won't leave her alone but they decided that this was something that they needed to do. What makes it even better was that Danny Ray was there, Aunt Martha missed it b/c she is in the city until Tuesday. Loetta came up & they are just staying up there in a motel room which makes it easier to visit w/Randy. I don't have any new news on him as of today. I wasn't in the office much Friday to visit w/Dr. King so will pin him down tomorrow & hopefully will have an update for you all by the pm.
Hey I finally found out a dish that Kenneth doesn't like, chicken & dumplings. I mentioned that I was going to try to make some as I never have, asked him if he wanted any & he said NO. Almost threw me into a state of total speechless shock but wasn't shock enough to stop me from talking!!
Let me tell you all about an episode that happened last week w/one of my kids coming up missing (Tango, the black cat that we have had since 1998). Needless to say it is Zach's FAVORITE cat out of the 5 that we have. Gone, vanished, disappeared, no where in sight, get the idea? Looked high & low all that afternoon after work & well into the night, nothing, nada, zip, zilch, zero!! This was the day after the kids moved back in so I had nightmare visions that somehow they had shut him up in the moving van which had been returned to LAWTON!! Didn't sleep, 1 of my kids was missing couldn't. Got up early next am went down to our storage unit, checked to make sure somehow that hadn't transported him down there, nothing, not a sign. Was going to work, ran into the dog catcher, EXCUSE ME ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER (who happens to be a female in Marlow), asked if she had picked up a black cat on Aspen street yesterday, she said sure did, caught him in a cat trap. I about had a coniption!! Asked was he hurt, dead, why, she said, no 1 of your neighbors is trapping cats in the area & turning them over to us. Then got furious!! Asked if I could go pick up him up, she said nope, when I was transferring him from the trap to the cage he got away from me, don't worry he should be home in a day or so I imagine. HEART ATTACK, HEART ATTACK!! Needless to say was late to work, went looking for cat, no such luck, went at lunch, no cat, went searching again. Hey this is one of my kids!! Took off work early after tellng Z what happened to keep him from killing animal control officer (federal offense, you know). Changed into ragged clothes, jeans w/big holes in umm, back side area, old sleeveless top used to mow yard in. So while Z went thru every back yard in neighborhood looking for cat trap, & threatening to kill neighbor when he found it, I went back to pound area, parked good 2 blocks away & started walking & calling, had stopped several times to ask if anyone had seen him, no one had. Was walking up road by city property, which is surrounded by 6 ft tall chain link fence, which is covered in shrubs, trees, poison oak, poison ivy, poison spiders, rabid snakes, monstrous bugs (you get the picture) and could hear him crying. Crawled thru dangerous poisonous area to get to fence & there was my baby!! Couldn't get to him, saw man setting on porch, asked if he had a phone I could use, told me nope was on my own, so continued to crawl along fence line thru poisonous yuck stuff till I found hole going under fence, probably from past escapees, had to dig hole out, lay on stomach & stick hand under & up to coax him to come to me, took quite a while but finally managed to grab hold of 1 little paw and pull him under fence. Meanwhile man on porch was getting good peep show from my jeans!! Price he must pay for not offering to help (scary sight I am sure). Walked 2 blocks w/cat in arms in 90+ degress to get to vehicle to get missing kid home. Meanwhile Z found neighbor w/cat trap, no trap but did locate who it was, IT WAS THE ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER WHO LIVES COUPLE BLOCKS FROM US. After talking to my neighbors who ALL OWN CATS AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL DISAPPEAR IN LAST MONTH, lets say she won't be setting cat trap in our area again. TRAPPED WRONG KID!! But the good thing is I found out that I am not allergic to poison oak or ivy or sumac, didn't get bit by anything but a rabid mosquito!! WHEW!! And I say nothing exciting every happens around here.!!
Gotta go,
Love to you all,
Lisa

August Birthdays
Thursday, August 2, 2007
I know, I know I haven't sent you a Randy update in awhile but wanted to get the correct info before I did. Here is what I know straight from Dr. King's mouth who spoke w/Dr. Cresbow yesterday. Randy is in Select Speciality Hospital in OKC for a few more days. He is having some difficulties in remembering the correct year and seems to be co-herent most of the time but seems to stray out to left field every once in a while. He has to be restrained when alone b/c he continually pulls his iv's & feeding tube out & since he is on blood thinner this is so very dangerous. He wants to come home. They are still trying to dissolve the blood clots in his lung (thus the blood thinner problem) and cure his pnuemonia. Now for the bad part, according to Dr. Cresbow Randy has developed a very rare form of liver cancer that affects the bile cells in his liver, he now has 2 different kinds of liver cancer. This new cancer is very very rare & Dr. K is not for sure if there is a treatment for it. He has been completely removed from the transplant list. Dr. K is working w/the OKC docs on getting him released & possibly sent to the SNF unit @ Duncan Regional, skilled nursing facility. And the answer is no they haven't given us a time period at this time. So we don't give up, we pray that a new treatment is available. Aunt Martha is doing ok, handling herself w/grace and lots and lots of faith.

Updates 7/27/07
Randy is being moved to a short term full care rehab facility tomorrow. The nurse to patient ratio is 3 to 1. They will begin to get him up & out of bed more, walking etc. His hiatel hernia is constricting his eating some, plus he has 2 small blod clots in 1 lung & pneumonia in the other. They have him on a very strong dosage of blood thinner to dissolve the blood clots and he could bleed to death easily. Until these issues are resolved he is not a candidate for a liver transplant. Like I told Aunt Martha this pm, lots of prayer and 1 day at a time. She came home for some much needed rest & is staying home tomorrow. She is wore out. Who wouldn't be. He is some better but they still have the restrants handy just in case.
As for the darling duo, well both are feeling not to well today. Mom didn't even feel like getting out of bed to go get her hair done. Said she just wanted to sleep & rest. Kenneth still isn't well. I worry about them both so much. Always right there not even at the back of my mind, more like in the middle to front area constantly!!
Well I got 4 inches of hair cut off today & had it shaped, feel 10 pounds lighter in the head area, right where I don't need to loose!!
Gotta go for now, my love to you all,
Lisa

Corrected Update on Randy
They removed 1/3 of Randy's liver & the remaining 2/3's is functioning. He has a touch of pneumonia, it is not positive that he has been placed back as a candidate for a liver transplant. He is still drifting in and out of left field but Lisha was able to get him to eat quite a bit of his supper. He continues to run around a 101 fever but he does have a wonderful outlook and attitude. The cancer is maintained to the liver area. He did get up out of bed today and take a few steps. Aunt Martha is handling things really well w/the exception that she gets things mixed up.
Gotta go, will check w/Ray or Lisha before adding further updates. Lots of prayers are needed.
Luv ya,
Lisa
Quick update on what is going on around here, Randy has been moved to a room on the 7th floor, so he is out of ICU and seems to be doing some better. Have encountered a problem with getting him to eat, Aunt Martha says he will take 2 or 3 bites of something then stop & say he can't eat anymore b/c it is bad for his liver, so they are having to feed him by IV which is not good. Hopefully this is still the medication in his system talking and these thoughts will soon go away. When I talked to Aunt M they were in the middle of a discussion w/a lady who was telling them about a short term full care facility that Randy's doc has recommended for his recouperation, Aunt M wants to bring him home, have no idea what they decided.
Well the darling duo are supposed to go back next week for their tests for whatever that they aren't for sure of, they think!!! Mom said that Pop still wasn't feeling well at all & I lost my temper & told her that I had no sympathy for him. There are docs out there to go see, if you have felt bad for almost a month do something about it, don't just sit there!! Silly me!!
Other than that all is calm.
My love to you all,
Lisa

Wedding Postponed
Johnathan and Melissa have decided NOT to get married on August 4th. Johnathan has decided he is not sure he is ready to get married. I think it took a lot of courage to make that decision. They are still engaged but I am not sure what the future holds. We were in Woodward when he told Melissa. Her family was very understanding and supportive. We all want what is best for both of them. Everyone please keep them in your prayers. And pass this info along to everyone.
Updates: Randy, Minnie, & Kenneth
Just talked to Aunt Martha, she has come home for the day. Randy has leveled out and stablized. He is doing so well that they are taking him out of ICU and moving him to the 10th floor tomorrow. His ct scan did show a blood clot and fluid in his lungs but they are treating him for that and he has shown such improvement in the last 24 hours. They finally found a pain medication that eases him and doesn't send him out in left field!! They did not have to remove any of his colon during the surgery, did remove part of the liver w/the tumor and zapped the other 2 small tumors. Unfortunately, his liver function is down to less than 1/4, the rest is just gone. He has been put back at the top of the liver transplant list so now it is a race to see if 1 can be found for him before his goes into total failure. The sorrow is that someone else must lose a loved one for ours to live. Personally just so that you all know I have opted to be a organ donor on my license, just so that I can help someone if possible.
Mom & Kenneth are seriously going to send me over the edge into la-la land & I am going to stay there and enjoy myself & not have to face reality anymore!! They make me want to pull my hair out b/c if I don't they are going to turn it all gray anyway!! They went to see the cardiologist yesterday, came home last night said everything was fine, except that mom needed some blood work done for something but don't know what, she was pretty sure they didn't do it today and well, hmmmmmmmmm Kenneth is supposed to have an ultra sound of something or other but neither one could remember of what or what for or what was wrong or well hmmmmmmmmmmmm oh well, they would call & tell them when to show up for the test. His cough, lungs are clear, no bronchitis, no pneumonia, shortness of breath, feeling not right, pale no color, low blood pressure, high blood sugar, etc etc, etc, but nothing is wrong except for the ultrasound for something or other. Said well since it was your HEART DOCTOR DO YOU THINK IT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE HEART???? You know maybe I am right but still not for sure. I think personally congestive heart failure but then who knows, If I was a drinking person I would get drunk!! and ENJOY IT!!! Guess I will settle for another Dr. Pepper and remain stressed out and FAT!!!!
Oh & for the really good news, Z & A are moving back in today!! See, See, why I am stressed, gray headed and fat, fat, fat!!
BUT YOU GOTTA LOVE ME!!! B/C I AM ADORABLY PRECIOUS AND I AM CUTE TOO!!
Love to you all

Randy: New Surgery
Here is my latest Randy update and I am sorry to report that it isn't a good one. Randy went in for his needle procedure Friday, they inserted a scope thru his belly button to pinpoint the exact location for the treatment and found a new tumor the size of a grapefruit plus two smaller tumors. The large tumor was on his liver but had also adhesed to his colon. They immediately performed surgery to remove the tumors. Randy did well during the surgery but during his recovery period he began to expierence breathing problems. He was moved to the ICU unit yesterday and has remained there in stable but guarded condition. Sherrill, Trish & I spent this afternoon with him. He did not respond well to the morphine and had to be restrained and is still restrained at this time. They have changed his pain medication to Demerol & Darvocett + Ativan for anxiety. The less stimulation that he has at this point the better. He was resting when we left after having a terrible bout of the hiccups which they are not allowed to give him thorzine for at the time due to liver damage from it. I did speak with an RN while I was there asking if they had pinpointed the reason for his oxygen deprivation (they have not). They do have him on a full face oxygen mask at this time, as long as he is on the oxygen his level stays in the 90's, w/o his mask it drop into the critical zone almost immediately. His blood work has returned w/a few abnormals but none of them are critical. He is running a 101 fever but according to the doctor's notes this is due to the trauma of the surgery not due to any infection. He has once again been removed from the transplant list. His stomach is quite swollen but this again is due to the surgery. I asked a new mri or ct scan has been ordered but they have not at this time. Ray & Aunt Martha are returning to the hospital tomorrow & hopefully will be able to consult with all of the doc's. We are unsure at this time if they had to remove any of his colon, what his prognosis is, in other words we are in the dark & we don't like it a bit. I questioned the nurse if it was possible with his form of cancer for the tumor to have grown that fast in bascially 1 1/2 months, since it did not appear on his June 6th tests and she said yes. I have not told Aunt Martha this. She is basically handling herself well and can be expected but heartfelt calls would be appreciated tomorrow. She promised to call me tomorrow & let me know how he is doing and what if anything the docs have to say. I will then send you all and update asap. Oh & if any of you go to see him be very, very careful what you say around him b/c he might be laying there w/his eyes closed but he repeats everything he hears!! Trish & I found this out by talking over his bed about music or the TV or something and he repeated everything right back to us.
Mom & Kenneth go to see their cardiologist this week and I will also send you an update on them. Pop has felt really bad for the last couple of weeks, all he will say is not himself, he is very pale, short of breath & has a cough.
Love to you all,
Lisa

Lisa's Diet Update
After reviewing the diet plan that was sent to me w/my doc I have declined to particpate. It isn't a realistic or safe diet. Oh well guess I will just have to do this on my own like last time!! Just put a lot of effort and hard work (gulp, exercise ) into it. I hate exercise!!
Oh well just thought I would let you all know, no glamour mag cover for me!! Alas, my beauty will have to stay hidden from the world.
Don't forget that Randy has his procedure today.
My love to you all,
Lisa

SOLD!
Monday, July 16, 2007
YEAH for Lisa!
Just had to share this you, couldn't contain myself any longer!! This is an update on me, me, me!!
Well here goes, have I kept you all in suspense long enough!!
How about now?
Ok, ok, don't need to get mad at me.
I know that most of the females that this will go to are very familiar with the magazine, Woman's World, the men are probably in the dark but that's ok!! Anyway, last year sometime I was reading the mag and noticed a small ad asking for volunteers for their diet programs. They feature a diet each week, this is a weekly mag by the way for you who don't know it. The diet's are all researched by their staff, etc, etc, most are by published authors, anyway I sent and email asking to be considered and received an email back thanking for my interest but due to the high volume of emails, they were no longer accepting volunteers, yada, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah, so I forgot about it.
Well guess what, last Friday they contacted me to see if I was still interested, which I am. Then told me that they would pay me $25 per day for 7 to 8 days to test 1 of 2 diets. If I do well and am chosen they will feature me, yes that's right, ME!! in their magazine and I might also grace the cover of the mag!! Little old me on the cover of a world wide published mag. Someone paying me to lose weight!! Wow!! Also they told me that if this diet doesn't work out which is a high fiber diet they will continue to offer me diets until they find one that works for me since I am seriously interested. If I get chosen for the mag they provide wardrobe, hair & makeup!! I might look pretty good for once!!! HA HA
Well just thought I would let you all know what is up with me for now and ask for your prayers that one of these diets works. I really need to loose the weight, I know that it is mostly from stress (what could I be stressing over in my life, hmmmmmmmmm I wonder). By the way 2 of the stresses are still not feeling well, just talked to her.
Gotta go,
Love to you all,
Lisa

Updates from Lisa
Long time no hear from me, huh!!
Well here is my latest Randy update, just talked to Aunt Martha, they were on their way home from the city & Randy's latest appt. He will have his next cancer treatment on July 20, 2007. They will go in with a needle and inject chemo directly into the remaining tumors that are too close to his colon. He will be under for this, with no complications shouldn't have too long of a hospital stay. He seems to be doing ok. Was out and about on the 4th and has gotten rid of his motorcycle.
As for mom & pop they are both a little under the weather today. Pop has not been feeling well all week. Have been trying to keep a close eye on him, bp has been down & sugar has been up. Boy is he stubborn. Have used the excuse of taking them supper to really check on them.
As for me, well I have decided not to quit my job, will continue to clean homes on the side, have my 3 private home cleanings and will be available for rental cleanings. I just like what I do too much to give it up + I am really lazy. Housework is just really hard, especially when you see the waste like I do in the 1 house that I clean. Waste of money, food, clothes, jewelry, etc. Don't know how many of those houses I could clean w/o becoming shall we say a bit jaded!! or maybe more jaded than I already am. Would rather deal with druggies & med seekers!! Go figure. Am still living alone for now, Zach threatens to move back home just to keep me on my toes!! I love it. I have really gotten quite a bit of work done on the house but have a lot more to do. This week if weather prermits I am tackling the garage, so if no one hears from me for a long period of time LOOK IN THE GARAGE!!
Trish & family are doing really well & she is buidling quite a little catering reputation. She has a wedding job on the 21st and of course her head server and assistant is YOURS TRULY!! You just never know what will come up and what we will do next. She helps me with my cleanings and I help her with her catering. We are quite a team!! Who would have thought that you could have a cousin that you like as well as love. Family, go figure!!
Well everyone keep in touch.
My love to you all,
Lisa
