About the Reunion
(From Amy & Amanda's point of view)!
1. How excited everyone is to see each other the first day.
2. Trips up the hill to the bathroom.
3. Trips down the sidewalk to the cabins.
4. Packing and Unpacking and Repacking.
5. The Food!
6. 42.
7. Group picture time.
8. Sunburns.
9. The clean-up (for those of us who actually stay at the group camp until the last day.)
10. Adventure Day.
11. Climbing the rock chimney.
12. Getting stuck on the rock chimney.
13. Kids playing in the dirt.
14. Trips into town to Wal-Mart.
15. Trips across the street to the little store.
16. Boat rides.
17. Empty lake.
18. Full lake.
19. Mountain climbing.
20. Go cart races.
21. Water slides.
22. Wildlife encounters.
23. 3 am bathroom trips.
24. Forgetting your flip flops for the shower back at your cabin.
25. Worse...forgetting your towel back at your cabin.
26. Aunt Dorothy's cinnamon rolls.
27. Fishing trophy.
28. Fish fry.
29. Watching the kids watch the guys cut up the fish.
30. Having a playground for the kids to play.
31. Hot Reunion Days.
32. Cool, rainy reunion days.
33. Mice droppings in the kitchen. (GROSS)
34. Walking across the street to use the pay phone because your cell phone won't work to talk to your spouse who couldn't come to the reunion.
35. Trying to get a signal on your cell phone in the boat in the parking lot standing on your tiptoes.
36. Trying to make biscuits like Grandma Minnie made. (Amy)
37. Failing to do so.
38. Seeing how much all the kids have grown each year.
39. Showing up the last day for group pictures pretending you were there the whole time.
40. Swimming in the lake.
41. Having to take the kids out of school to go to the reunion.
42. Crawling into your bunk bed and forgetting to wipe your feet.
43. Kids/Grandkids crawling into your bunk bed and forgetting to wipe their feet.
44. Having to spend $25 for a fishing license for 5 days.
45. KP.
46. Concrete floors.
47. Walk-in refrigerators.
48. Mold in the shower.
49. Baby baths in the sink.
50. Red Kool-Aid.
51. Sun Tea.
52. Getting up to make breakfast at 6:30 am.
53. Getting up after 9:00 am and getting no breakfast.
54. The days of no a/c in the cabins.
55. A/C in the cabins.
56. Picnic tables in the big room.
57. Playing cards.
58. Visitors.
59. Big rocks in the front.
60. Missing those who have passed on.
61. The countdown before the reunion.
62. Oklahoma wind.
63. Our kids knowing their extended family.
64. The annual reunion letter.
65. Our kids talking about the reunion for weeks before we go.
66. Our kids talking about the reunion for weeks after we go and asking how long until the next one.
67. Catching the biggest fish the first day.
68. Someone else catching a bigger fish the last day.
