Hi Guys!!
Well our prayers were answered yesterday in that Sherrill DOES NOT have cancer. It was a much shorter surgery than planned. The turmor was a pre-malignant granuloma. BUT the surgeon did state that his lungs were so bad that if he did not quit smoking immediately he would be in a motorized scooter toting an oxygen tank behind him in a very, very short time. Please all of you who smoke, stop, I know it is probably one of the hardest things to do but the end results are so tragic not only for you but for the ones who love you and have to watch you suffer. I am asking for prayers for Zach and Angela. Zach is up to almost 2 packs per day. He and I are going to have a long talk today. Now back to Sherrill, if he does ok he should be moved to a room possibly this afternoon. I must say that my cousin is A LOT OF FUN on valium!! No idea when he will go home but it will be a lot sooner than before.
I promise I will write again soon to those of you who have sent me emails. Got to catch up on laundry and housekeeping chores today.
Love to you all,
Lisa

Prayer Request for Tracy
Hello everyone,
For those who don't know, Tracy was admitted into the hospital yesterday around 6pm after a long day at the doctor's office. She is at Shea Hospital (90th St and Shea) in room 3203.
She talked to the doctor this morning and he said she would be there until Sunday and probably longer. So I will try and keep everyone posted as I can.
So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks
Rusty

Sherrill Update from Lisa 3/27/08
Here is an FYI to all of you, Sherrill called & said they have moved his surgery from 11:30 AM to 9:00 AM tomorrow. He has to be at the hospital @ 6:00. Lo was unable to make in for the surgery, stuck on a job in Florida but she did pay for a suite @ an Inn about 2 or 3 blocks from hospital. Aunt Martha & Sherrill have already left to go up tonight & Trish and I will be joining them by around 9:00. Didn't really want to get up and leavy by 4:30 in the am. Trish and I will camp out in the rooms somewhere. I will probably stay the weekend up there with Auntie. Ray has to work Saturday and w/o Lo I don't want to leave her alone to cope with all of it. Prayers would be greatly appreciated and are much needed. As Deb has written to me, hopefully after all of this is over, Sherrill can start getting the help that he needs to pull him out of the depression he has been for so very long. Again please all of you remember how badly depression and bi-polarism runs in our family. NO SHAME in it, it is a medical condition and be treated. My son is living proof of it.
Well I will try to contact as many of you as I can tomorrow, may rely on the family grapevine chain to get the word out to as many as we can.
My love to you all,
Lisa

Sherrill Update from Lisa
Ok, I said I would let you all know as soon as I found out, well, I found out!!
Sherrill's surgery is this Friday @ Integris. He has to be there by 8:30, surgery is scheduled @ 11:30. Aunt Martha is asking for family only but so many of Sherrill's friends consider him & themselves family that I don't think that she will get her wish. I know that I am taking off to be there. I have spoken to both Sherrill & Auntie M tonight & both had to hang up due to crying. Aunt Martha told me that she had been strong all day long & now she just had to let go & have a good cry. Then she was going to bed. I understand that she either tried to call Chester or she did reach him, she also told Beth. Not for sure about Fred or Oscar. She asked me to tell mom, unfortunately the sun is still shining therefore mom is still outside, won't come in until it gets dark!! The game plan per the surgeon is that they will make an incision underneath his armpit, break 2 ribs & do a biopsy first, if malignant, they will remove right upper lobe of lung, if not, they will sew him back shut. If malignant, he will be in ICU for several days, then moved to a room, then released, should be back to work in 3 weeks time. Haven't been able to talk to Ray to confirm all of this so this data could change!!
Gotta go, have muffins in the oven.
Love to you all,
Lisa

Lisa's Updates 3/17/08
Hello Loved Ones, It's me again!!
Weekly update from Marlow OK!!!
Rained today, yeah, we need the moisture, even thundered a little.
Mom is working so much in the yard that she already has a tan!! But she is happy so that is all that matters. Kenneth went wild pig hunting (I think) can't keep up with all the "hunting seasons". Both are doing ok.
Aunt Martha has been sick, sick, sick. Has that nasty stomach virus going around. Coming out both ways. YECH!!
Sherrill went to the lung doctor today, per he and Raymond here is the deal. He is 95% to 98% sure that his tumor is malignant but won't know until biopsy is done. He gave Sherrill 3 choices, he could go with radiation (5% cure rate), chemotherapy (5% cure rate) or removal. Sherrill opted for removal. He goes for his pre-op work & consultation with the surgeon next Tuesday, March 25th. Surgery will be scheduled that day & should follow pretty quickly, probably 1st or 2nd week of April (that is my thinking). He is down to 69% of his breathing capacity (gotta love those cigs! ) and will loose about 15% more with this surgery. Dr. Hughes told him that he could still have a good quality of life with 50% breathing capacity. Sherrill did agree to totally stop smoking but is now worried about gaining weight!! Welcome to the real world, huh!! Will let you all know more about his surgery time when I find out. I mentioned that Trish and I would probably be at the hospital for the surgery, he got real quiet and said well ok, I asked if he didn't want us there & he said well it wasn't that, it was just that he didn't think he would feel much like visiting with us. Explained that we really weren't going to be there to visit w/him, but more as moral support for him and the family. After surgery treatment will not be discussed until hmmmmmmm after the surgery and biopsy are done. Makes sense to me!!
Don't you just love those smiley faces!!! I do.
As for my son, I think aliens have captured him and replaced him with one of them . He and his best friend (Larimie) have been scouting out locations for a garage or shop to start their own mechanic business. They found one today, signed a lease on it. $400 per mth all utilities provided as well as dumpster rights + it has (2) count em (2) bathrooms. It is in the downtown Duncan area in an old car dealership building. They have consulted an attorney who is helping them to draft all of their business papers (legally) (thus the need for a lawyer). They are both keeping their jobs and doing this business on the side (nights & weekends) until their business picks up. The 1 of them will work there full time, while the other continues to work at his job until there is enough business to support both of them. They have even drawn up a business plan, and are now trying to think of a good name for their business. Any suggestions? Do you know what all of this means for me? NO MORE WORKING ON CARS IN MY DRIVEWAY IN THE DAYTIME OR AT NIGHT!! The neighbors may throw a block party. So far just this last week Z has made $300 extra working on his friends vehicles. He is pretty good even if I do say so myself!!
Angela started her new job today, with a salary increase of $2.50 per hour. She is working as a data entry or inventory clerk here in town for one of the machine shops. Same one where Sherrill is working. Game plan is that by fall, hopefully they will be able to move out on their own and (GULP) stay out this time!! As I have told my son for the last few YEARS I have plans for that room. It will make the best craft room ever & then I can put a daybed in the computer room for any visitors.
Well gotta go,
My love to you all,
Lisa
