From Lisa, July 18
Well Loved Ones, here is another quick update on the happenings in Marlow town. Seems that Kenneth hadn't been real truthful w/me about feeling ok. Right after I sent out the last email mom started telling about a spot on Pop's foot that looked almost like a spider bite but not really. Was blood red and almost went completely around his ankle. Not an open wound but it really itched & hurt a lot. Advised dear old Pop to go to the doctor Monday. He declined. Oh by the way did I mention his toes also had a bluish cast to them (he is a diabetic!!). He wasn't going to let me bully him around like mom lets me!! So finally Tuesday night I gave him the choice of seeking his own medical care or I was calling his sons, all 3 of them. It worked, he went to the doctor on Wednesday, they put him on a very, very strong antibiotic and told him to come back this am. The doc seemed to think that it may have had something to do with the Round-Up that Pop had sprayed on the yard, chemical burn. Anyway needless to say it was worse this am even with the anitibiotics so guess who is in the hospital!! Yep, already told him that "I told you so". He will be in Grady Memorial in Chickasha for the next 3 to 4 days on very strong IV antibiotics & has been diagnosed with severe cellulitis for now. I am sure there will be more diagnosis' added. So put Pop on the prayer list and call him if you can.
Love to you all,
Lisa

Update: July 24
Hello Loved Ones,
Just a quick update on Pop, he is still in the hospital, they have now found a lump on the back of his leg in the calf area, about 2" or 3" long & the doctor is uneasy about it. He has decided to keep him at least another day. Pop was really disappointed b/c he had been told he could go home today. He walked yesterday for the 1st time on his leg (had to use a walker) and was able to go down the hall to the nurses station, which is a good thing. Mom has been staying every other night due to gas prices & she is really tired & worn out from it all.
Aunt Martha has a colonoscopy this Friday, will let you all know the results when I do and then has also scheduled herself for cataract surgery next month.
I am having more good days than bad. My appt w/the specialist is in October.
Well think I have caught you all up to date on everything that I know which isn't a lot.
Love to you all,
Lisa
