Kenneth Update 7/26/2008

Hi Ho Love Ones!!

Pop is out of the hospital & at home now. Talked to him this am when I went over & took them either supper or lunch, when ever they choose to eat it and ran some errands for them. Saw his leg, the area stretches from his ankle almost to his knee. It is a very dusky bluish red, the knot is still very present in the back (doc seems to think swollen lymph node from the infection). Now they are saying that they don't know what has caused this, not for sure it was the Round Up. He still has pain when walking but not so much that he can't walk which was the story for the last week. He goes back to doc on Tuesday, will let you all know more than. Mom is fine but very tired. Everyone else doing fine.

Love ya,
Lisa

Prayer Request for Kenneth and Update

I want to apologize for not putting this on sooner. I thought I had posted it but guess I never did. Here is what Aunt Lisa wrote last Friday, then an update from today.

From Lisa, July 18

Well Loved Ones, here is another quick update on the happenings in Marlow town. Seems that Kenneth hadn't been real truthful w/me about feeling ok. Right after I sent out the last email mom started telling about a spot on Pop's foot that looked almost like a spider bite but not really. Was blood red and almost went completely around his ankle. Not an open wound but it really itched & hurt a lot. Advised dear old Pop to go to the doctor Monday. He declined. Oh by the way did I mention his toes also had a bluish cast to them (he is a diabetic!!). He wasn't going to let me bully him around like mom lets me!! So finally Tuesday night I gave him the choice of seeking his own medical care or I was calling his sons, all 3 of them. It worked, he went to the doctor on Wednesday, they put him on a very, very strong antibiotic and told him to come back this am. The doc seemed to think that it may have had something to do with the Round-Up that Pop had sprayed on the yard, chemical burn. Anyway needless to say it was worse this am even with the anitibiotics so guess who is in the hospital!! Yep, already told him that "I told you so". He will be in Grady Memorial in Chickasha for the next 3 to 4 days on very strong IV antibiotics & has been diagnosed with severe cellulitis for now. I am sure there will be more diagnosis' added. So put Pop on the prayer list and call him if you can.

Love to you all,
Lisa

Update: July 24

Hello Loved Ones,

Just a quick update on Pop, he is still in the hospital, they have now found a lump on the back of his leg in the calf area, about 2" or 3" long & the doctor is uneasy about it. He has decided to keep him at least another day. Pop was really disappointed b/c he had been told he could go home today. He walked yesterday for the 1st time on his leg (had to use a walker) and was able to go down the hall to the nurses station, which is a good thing. Mom has been staying every other night due to gas prices & she is really tired & worn out from it all.

Aunt Martha has a colonoscopy this Friday, will let you all know the results when I do and then has also scheduled herself for cataract surgery next month.

I am having more good days than bad. My appt w/the specialist is in October.

Well think I have caught you all up to date on everything that I know which isn't a lot.

Love to you all,
Lisa

Update & Prayer Request from Lisa 7/14/08

Hello Loved Ones!!

Just a quick note to let you all know what is going on in Marlow town and to request that you all put me on your prayer list.

Mom is doing some better, she has fallen quite a lot in the last few weeks but had her in to see Dr. Sabedra & he seems to think that since it only occurs outside it is b/c she is not paying attention to her walking. She is the neighborhood detective you know. Poor little thing is covered in bruises but otherwise seems pretty happy as long as she can get outside.

Kenneth is doing ok as well as Aunt Martha.

Zach is on antibiotics for infected lymph nodes (the ones under his ear and into his jaw on the right side). Thought there for a while he was going to pull out all of his teeth to get relief but it is a good thing he didn't since it wasn't them, huh?

Now as for me, I have been having some pain off & on since last October, first in my arm then it seemed to travel all over into my joints and bones. It isn't a constant steady pain and it can't be described as an ache. Sometimes it is a very sharp pain that last for 5 to 20 mins then goes away, others is constant low pain for a day or two. Finally I decided to see Dr. Sabedra last week about it and he ran some tests, most came back negative but 2 came back positive. He isn't for sure what is going on w/me so he is referring me to a rheumatologist. My RA Latex (rheumatoid arthritis test) came back negative BUT my CR Reactive Protein came back really abnormal, normal is 5 or less, mine is 18.4, also my ANA Titer came back abnormal which shows positive for things like rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, leukemia. Normal is 7 or less & mine is 15.7. He says that this is out of his area of expertise and so off I go to see a specialist. I am also having problems with fatigue, which he says could be tied into all of this. The specialist that he wants me to see is booked until October so don't know if they will send me to someone else or if I will have to wait for her. In the meantime I am on prescription anti-inflammatories. Have put myself on the prayer list @ church and now need my family to start also. Other than that, things are GREAT!!

My love to you all & let me know how you all are doing.

Love ya,
Lisa
