Our Loss

We are saddened by the loss of Debbie. She passed away this afternoon. She will be cremated and there will be a memorial service in West Virginia as well as one in Oklahoma. No arrangements have been made at this time. Please keep her husband and children as well as Martha and her siblings in your prayers.

Please pray for Debbie. She is in the hospital. She has an impacted colon and is extremely septic. Her blood pressure is low (60/40) and has an infection in her entire abdomen. The doctors are concerned her organs will start shutting down. Pray for her healing and for her husband, Gary, and their girls. Aunt Martha and Loetta are on their way to Virginia today.

Russ is at home resting. He was released today before noon and is glad to be out of the hospital. He was in his recliner, watching football when we left him today. He still feels pretty crummy and needs your prayers for a full recovery. He has gallstones and will probably need surgery soon for those.

Danny and I just got back from visiting Russ in the hospital. They are going to keep him a little longer. He has been having abdominal pain and fluid retention. Did a cat scan - waiting on results. Heaven is out of the hospital

Angel - My little girl is home!!! God is good... :)

She will be staying with her in-laws...Their house is handicap accessible. She will have to go back weekly for xrays to make sure there is no movement. I am a happy mama!!!! ... and... tomorrow is BJ's 9th birthday. Life is Good!!! :)

BRAY — Faron Pierce of Duncan, and Ricky Faust, of Foster, were severely injured Thursday in Bray, when oil field equipment they were working on exploded. The explosion happened just after 2 p.m.
Stephens County Sheriff Wayne McKinney said both men were transported by helicopter to the burn center in Oklahoma City. He said the burns were extensive, covering the entire upper torso, face, hands and groin areas.
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, McKinney said both men were in “extremely serious condition.”
“Both were extremely burned,” McKinney said.
McKinney said the cause of the explosion, which took place at Eagle Iron and Metal, on State Highway 29, east of Marlow, was unknown.
When the call came in, there was an immediate response from numerous law enforcement, firefighters and other public safety personnel, as the seriousness of the explosion was yet to be determined.
Members of the Stephens County Sheriff’s Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other emergency departments tended to the scene for about two hours.
SH 29 was closed for about an hour, as traffic was diverted, so emergency personnel could work the scene and the helicopters were brought in for the immediate transfer of Faust and Pierce.
McKinney said OHP was on the scene about three minutes following the explosion. It took members of the sheriff’s department about seven minutes to get to the scene. “We have more people working the road now,” McKinney said.

Venius - Heaven update: We went to see her after getting back from our Vegas trip. She was the passenger in the car driven by her husband and they were T-boned on Heaven's side. The accident happened in Stillwater. Her pelvis on the right side is broken in 5 places, broken clavicial on the left side and sprained left ankle.

Angel - We are waiting on the dr to come in. Exploratory surgery. We found out that they are so full they diverted patients to other hospitals yesterday. There are no rooms. Patients out in the hall. She hasn't had anything to eat or drink in. Preparing for exploratory surgery.

Angel - 9 a.m. - They just took her for a vein scan to check for clots.

Angel - 10:30 a.m. - She is next in line for surgery. Looking to see if the bones move. If not stable they will immediately do the necessary surgery.

Angel - Heaven in car accident. Jaws of life. Airvaced to OU med. Broken bones in pelvis. Contusion..small. Clavical..left side. Looks good. Lots of pain. We are blessed! Still waiting on all results.
Angel - Heaven will probably be in hosp for a week. Specialst will look at xrays tomorrow. She has lots of pain. Thank you for all the prayers.

Angel - Waiting on specialist to determine whether to have surgery. She is in a lot of pain. Looks like recovery will be lengthy. Thank you for all the prayers. She was not breathing yesterday at the accident. An EMT just happened to be at the scene and gave her CPR. God was certainly watching over her!!! Keep up the prayers!!!

Update on Martha's surgery

From Raymond:
Just wanted to let you know mom came through surgery just fine. They removed the left kidney, and she will remain in the hospital until Friday or Saturday. It will be a few days before the pathology report comes back but the doctor was 90 percent it was malignant.

We praised God for a good report and I will post again if I receive anything new. Continue to pray for a speedy, pain free as possible recovery. ~Amy

Sierra has been having some problems with her bladder for the past few weeks. She has a history of problems with her kidney and the doctors have decided to make sure there isn't any thing else going on. She is having a scope done at the hospital today. Please say prayers for her...and her Mama, Venius who is sitting in the hospital (on her BIRTHDAY), waiting for good news about her "little girl"!

2010 ISBELL FAMILY REUNION
THURSDAY, APRIL 29 – MONDAY, MAY 3
QUARTZ MOUNTAIN STATE PARK, GROUP CAMP I

We had 34 adults and 14 children in attendance last year. We played bingo, 42, skip-bo and more; had a carnival; and above all enjoyed each other’s company. A grand time was had by all. Of course, we missed all of you who didn’t make it, and we sincerely hope you will make an effort to attend this year. For more information, photos, and fun family facts please see our family blog at isbellanderson (dot) blogspot (dot) com.
Check-in time is 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 29. We will check-out after clean-up on Monday by 12:00 pm. If you are staying in the cabins, remember to bring bedding, towels, toiletries, etc. You may also want to include a flashlight, small rug, and a clock. Everyone is encouraged to bring games, lawn chairs, fishing gear, and a potluck dish or two to share on Thursday evening. Sometimes the weather can be a little cool especially if it rains, so don’t forget to pack some pants and a jacket.
We will be playing bingo again this year on Saturday night. So, don’t forget your prizes for the prize table. If you would like to win it, bring it.
Congratulations to Chester, who won the 2009 Fishing trophy and fishing pot. Everyone is eligible to win the trophy for largest fish. Those who wish to be eligible to win the pot must give the five dollar entry fee to Amy BEFORE you get on the water. All others will only be eligible for the trophy.
All kids are invited to attend the 7th annual Kids’ Adventure Day on Saturday, May 1. The theme this year is Reunion Survivor. The kids will complete challenges to see who is a Reunion Survivor. If your children or grandchildren will be attending, we MUST know before reunion time in order to have enough supplies and prizes. Thank you for your cooperation on this. We would hate for any child to feel left out.We can hardly wait to see your smiling faces! This is one of the most exciting times of the year for my family. We hope to see you all there. Civil Air patrol creates positive environment, builds leadership skills

FARMINGTON — The Civil Air Patrol's Cessna 182 airplane was given a facelift, a new look rescuers hope will make the craft easier for stranded boaters or lost hikers to see during search and rescue missions. The plane, originally white and orange, was repainted red, white and blue. "It was really kind of ugly if I say so myself," Civil Air Patrol Capt. Tom Stamper said of the old paint job. "So we are really proud of the new paint job." The Civil Air Patrol is the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, which conduct 90 percent of the inland search and rescue missions in the United States. The plane is part of the Civil Air Patrol Farmington Squadron and used for aerospace education, cadet orientation and area search and rescue missions. The organization conducts monthly training missions and an average of three or four actual searches each year, Major Scott Zenonian said. One of the squadron's more frequent missions is to fly over Navajo Lake during major holiday weekends. Pilots and ground crew work in coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard, relaying valuable information on the locations of boaters and campers. Pilots can survey the lake in about 20 to 25 minutes, Stamper said. The all-volunteer service also performs homeland security, disaster relief and counter-drug missions for law enforcement agencies. The organization also plays a vital role in educating area youth who are interested in joining the U.S. Air Force. highest demographic in the Air Force Academy are people who were Civil Air Patrol Cadets aside from race and gender, Stamper said. There are 20 cadets in the Farmington squadron, higher than the 10 to 15 member average. One of the main functions of the program is inspire the love of flying, although not all positions in the organization have anything to do with flying, Stamper said, of the communication and ground teams. John Ellsaesser, 15, is a cadet senior master sergeant in the squadron. He hopes the program will help him get in to the Air Force Academy. "He wants to fly," said Ellsaesser's dad, Jimmy. "That's his thing." Ellsaesser already has flown several times with the program. The cadets also learn valuable leadership and life skills, in addition to getting an introduction to the skies. "The cadet program was designed to instill two things," Stamper said, who became involved with the organization after his son joined. "There was a decline in the aerospace industry and officials saw a need to get youth involved and to provide a positive environment for children so they can learn leadership." The cadets meet weekly year round and participate in drills and leadership training. Membership fees are $30 annually, which covers the costs of books, tamper said.

From Raymond:

We have just returned from seeing the urologist in OKC. He confirmed that Mom has a mass in her left kidney that is consistent with cancer. His recommendation for her, considering her age, health...etc., is to totally remove the kidney, as opposed to taking only part and risk leaving cancer behind. This is a laprascopic procedure that is much easier on the patient and requires a 2-3 day recovery period in the hospital. Plus there would be no need for chemo or radiation. Her right kidney appears to be healthy enough for a normal life. The cancer doesn't appear to have spread to any other organs however additional bloodwork and x-rays were done to confirm. She presently has a bladder infection so an antibiotic was prescribed. The surgery will be scheduled for sometime in the next 2-3 weeks after the infection has cleared up. I will do my best to keep you updated. Please continue to pray for successful surgery and total recovery.

Halee got 1st place in the elementary chemistry division and then overall winner of the elementary science fair. She said that she almost threw up and is completely besides herself. Dear Danny:

The Isbell-Anderson request for the use of Group Camp I at Quartz Mountain Nature Park has been confirmed for Thursday, April 29 - Monday, May 3, 2010.

Check-in on your arrival date will be no later than 2:00 P.M. and check-out on your departure will be no later than 11:00 A.M.

The daily fee for the use of the group Camp is going up. The new rate is $350 per day. This will go into effect starting April 1, 2010. However, your rate is grandfathered in at $300.00 per day for 2010. Upon check-out and rebooking the new deposit amount requested will be $350.00.

Group Camp is clean upon arrival and it is supposed to be left clean upon departure. Some groups have been having trouble with this concept in the past. As of checkout and rebooking this year, a new $100.00 cleaning deposit is required of all groups, due before occupying camp and refundable upon leaving. If your group leaves group camp clean, and you prefer, this deposit will be rolled over and be available for next year's stay. If group camp is left dirty and your group rebooks, the deposit will be used for this year and you will be sent a request for next year's cleaning deposit. We regret that we have to charge this fee, but is has become necessary.

NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART.....

Shai decided to end 2009 in the emergency room... She was sitting on the end of a trailer right before mid-night and it went down! Her leg was under it and the piece of tin. Four stitches, one ER visit, and one tetanus shot later, she was back at the party SHOUTING HAPPY NEW YEAR! She is at home having a hard time staying off of it as instructed, and is sore, but otherwise doing okay. Let's pray Shai is up and running soon.

Well to those of you who couldn't make it to the family thanksgiving in Lawton, we missed you. All 35 of us wished you were there.

Rylan has been playing flag football. Although many games have been rained out. It has been so much fun to watch. He really likes it to but I think his favorite part is wearing the mouth piece.

Update on Johnathan's Hand Surgery

Johnathan's surgery went well. He is home recovering along with Sierra (who is sick with whatever is going around). Venius is cooking and they are lovin' it. I am sure momma's special care will have them up in running soon.

Johnathan broke his hand last week. From what I am told, the fight didn't last long and Johnathan taught that cd player a lesson. :)

Unfortunately, he does have to have surgery tomorrow morning. Please pray for Johnathan, his doctors and a speedy recovery.
