We Love Winter in Oklahoma!!!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Amanda, Megan, Bethany, and Shai decided to enjoy the 6+ inches of snow we were blessed with in Bartlesville. They made the snowman (oreo cookie eyes, pumpkin scoop nose, candy cane mouth, rock buttons, and a scarf and hat), they had a snowball fight, and enjoyed the day in the snow! Grandmom, Diane took pictures and back to the house she ran. After 17 years in Texas, the Oklahoma winter has been COLD!!!

Jimmy

Let's all say a prayer of thanksgiving to God that Jimmy made it through his surgery without any complications. He is home now and on his way to a full recovery. Please continue to pray that his recovery goes well. As his care giver, Aunt Beth can use an extra prayer or two also. As we all know it can be just as hard on the care giver as the one who has the surgery.

Prayer Request for Jimmy

Jimmy is having hernia surgery TODAY, Monday. Please pray for everything to go well and there to be no complications with his heart.

I am sure Beth would appreciate prayers for peace and comfort as well.

Lisa's Update 1/13/08

Hello Loved Ones!!

Hope this finds all of you doing ok in this New Year!!

Here is an update on Sherrill Wayne (aka:Skinny). There were several delays in his PET scan, 1st the ice storm, then he had bronchitis again, when he did finally get it done, they had what they termed a "bad burn" on their CD, so they had to re-burn the CD and send it to the city to be read & don't forget to add in the holidays but the results were finally sent to Dr. Kings office this last week and the results are ...................... "INCONCLUSIVE AT THIS TIME". Actually what they stated was that they look for a density of 3.5 or more which means a probability of malignancy being 95% or more. His tumor/growth has a density of 3.0. They recommend letting another 60 days pass then re-do the PET scan to see if the density has increased, then that would lead to a biopsy. Dr. King suggested that Sherrill follow their recommendations and wait another 60 days. Sherrill is wanting to wait at least another 120 days (not recommend, not allowed). Aunt Martha & Lo want him to go ahead and get the biopsy done now. Sherrill and I discussed his options this afternoon and I recommend that he see an oncologist for a 2nd opinion. He is getting so many recommendations thrown @ him right now that I am sure his world is turned up-side down all over again. I can see why Aunt M & Lo want a biopsy, if it is malignant that would be 60 days more of treatment, but if it isn't then he was cut on sooner than needed if at all. What a dilemma, so here is my next suggestion, let's all send up prayers and see what God recommends!!

As for Randy, it is my understanding that he is doing ok other than a pulled muscle in his back and an upper respiratory infection. I haven't seen him in about 2 weeks but he seems to be doing ok. He has decided to forgo all medications and just live his life the way he wants to & he seems to be doing ok. The pain is at a minimum for now.

Mom & Pop are doing well. Both seem to tire more easily and sleep everyday in their recliners (naps, you know). Mom's memory at times is a bit more fuzzier than usual and she got on to me the other day b/c I was getting on to her for being nosy. She informed me that when you get to be her age there isn't much you can do that brings you happiness so when you find something that does make you happy you need to do it & being "NOSY" makes her happy so there!! Guess I will just have to put up w/it. It isn't really her nosiness that bothers me so much as her comments about people, especially people who can hear her comments which most of the time are not complimentary!! That is the hardest thing for me to get used to b/c she used to never do stuff like that ever! and we weren't allowed to do it either. Such is life.

All are well in my household and everyone has a job!!

Not much more to write and I agree w/Russ, you guys need to update your blogs, I miss all the info.

Oh & one more thing, my sincere apologies to my dear darling most favorite sister-in-law in the world for missing her birthday. MY BAD, sorry and I love you and hope your day was a happy one.

Love to you all,
Lisa

Christmas with Danny's Family

What did you do for Christmas? Danny & Diane, Amy's Family, Amanda's Family, and Russell were all together for Christmas in Bartlesville. Everyone had a great time. We decorated a gingerbread house, made our own pizzas, opened presents, and enjoyed each other's company. We choose a theme every year and play a gift exchange game. This year's theme was appropriately "An Oklahoma Christmas".

Here are some pictures of all the fun stuff we did.
Danny & Diane's six grandchildren
The ginger bread house
Bethany, Megan, Rylan, Kyndal

Danny's Christmas present from Gavin
Yummy homemade pizzas
Enjoying their hardwork.

We would love to know what's happening with your family. If you send me your pictures, I will post them here too. Just let me know what you would like to say. raschlup2007@msn.com
