Thankful
What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving Season? I think we can all say we are thankful for our families and friends. Give me three things you are thankful for?

From Lisa 10/14/08
Thank you so much sweetie, basically the specialist has no idea what is wrong w/me. I have her stumped!! She is running A LOT of blood work & waiting for the results on that. She said I really don't have enough symptoms of any one thing to be diagnosed with. And get this if the blood work doesn't come back abnormal, she doesn't even want to see me again. I talked to Dr. Sabedra yesterday and he said he wasn't surprised, but at least it isn't something life threatening in his opinion. I just know it hurts when I stop talking my Aleve for more than a day or two. Trish went with me & every time she (by the way the doc's name was Amy Schultz and she even looked like you, so I felt comfortable w/her right away) would ask me about a symptom that would have been related to lupus, I would answer no & Trish would answer yes. So we got Trish diagnosed but not me!! She did mention steroid shots but wasn't positive about that. I would like to avoid those if possible as steroids make you gain weight and I don't need any more help in that area AT ALL!! Had a not so feel good weekend and now have fever blisters. Really hate those but for now we know ummmmmmmmmm, nothing!!
Mom on the other hand is falling almost 2 to 3 times per week. Has no short term memory at all and is falling into her winter depression b/c she can't get outside daily. She really has me concerned more than usual, especially since Kenneth's hunting season is starting. Guess she will be staying w/me or I will be staying w/her while he is gone for weeks at a time. To be truthful I dread it but will do it b/c I love her. I dread the inconvenience of it all.
Uncle Fred's prostate cancer has returned and as far as I know they haven't decided on another course of treatment yet or if there are any others available.
Trish called me last night and told me that she just got off the phone with Aunt Bev and she is coming down to spend Christmas with us. She will get here on Dec 19th and leave on Jan 4th. We really wish she would move down here permanently. It would be so nice to have her here.
I posted Tanner & Trinity's birthday party pics on the Wal-Mart site in our family room if anyone wants to look at them. Went thru the reunion pics again just for a good smile and it worked. Family always helps.
The newlyweds are doing ok but Sarah has been diagnosed with a ovarian cyst and it is really causing her A LOT of pain. Heard her crying last night with it again. Had her to the doc yesterday and he said it is basically the size of her ovary. They are trying to shrink it with birth control pills but if that doesn't work or if it doesn't drain on it's own, they will have to go in & drain it. They are so good together, it is a pleasure to be around them.
Well guess I will go, would you post this on the blog for me sweetie.
Thanks and I love you bunches!!

Lines from Lisa 9/1/08
Well Hello Loved Ones!!
Hope this finds all of you doing great!! I am so sorry that it has been so long since my last update to you all, especially you Aunt Dorothy, but you know how time sometimes just seems to slip away from you. So here is the latest up-dates on the Marlowites!!
Mom is doing better. She has her good days & bad. The other night she gave me a scare in that just as I was going to bed, as usual I called to tell her goodnight & she just happened to mention in passing that her heart was aching, had been for about 3 hours. Naturally I went on high alert. Questioned her and she got defensive & told me she would let me know in the morning if it hadn't got any better. By the next am she was all fine & didn't remember mentioning it to me.
Pop had cataract surgery this last week and has taken last week & this coming week off to recover. He seems to being doing fine. The hospital stay really wiped out his stamina so he is taking it easy.
Aunt Martha is having more problems recovering from her cataract surgery than Pop. She had to go back to eye doctor & he re-dilated her eyes & gave her more drops to treat it with. Has cut back on her driving quite a bit.
Randy is doing fine for now, saw him last night, he seems healthy and happy.
As for me, I am still having some pain in the old joints, it comes & goes and I still have an appt with the specialist on October 10th. I also have taken on another job working for Trish @ the Medicine Park Music Hall as a server. It is extra money & as we all know I could really use it. I am trying desperately to hold on to my home as I fell for the re-finance scam that everyone else is dealing with. I am not eligible for re-financing as my credit sucks so am stuck making the higher payments or lose my home, wonder why I am telling all of you this, well in the next paragraph you will be able to put it all together. Besides that only my pride kept me from talking about it before but since millions of others were as ignorant as I was I don't feel so alone!!
Now for the good & shocking news. My baby boy (yes that's right, Zach) got married this last Friday, and before you all ask it wasn't to Angela (his girlfriend that all of you have met over the last 7 years). He and Angela broke up several months ago. He started seeing Sarah who has been his friend or I would say bud for the last 4 years. She had also recently broke up (2 wks before he & Angela) with her long term boyfriend. The two have been inseparable ever since. I have seen a huge transformation in my son, in that he laughs, smiles, jokes, teases and just enjoys life and she is the same way. She is country and very laid back. Neither wanted a big wedding so they opted to go to Lawton to the county court house with the mom's as their witnesses. She married in her favorite capris, flip-flops and shirt and so did he but he wore tennis shoes as they don't make flip-flops that big. The judge was very laid back as well & yes I must admit I didn't even cry!! I got a little teary eyed but did my son proud. Can you all believe that I am a mother-in-law? Also the kids have opted to live with me to help me with my bills. It helps them and me so we all profit. I asked them to, unless it becomes a hardship on their relationship. Oh by the way did I mention that her dad & I are buds also, he is a very good friend of mine. That is how Zach & Sarah came to meet, they lived across the street from us until her dad bought a home way far out in the boonies. So the families all knew each other before hand which makes it so much easier when all parties involved like each other. Her full name now is Sarah Nicole (Whaley) Pierce and she will be 19 in November. She met Danny, Diane, Amy, Rylan and Kendall yesterday. Already knew Trish, Randy and Sherrill Wayne. Zach had already taken her over to meet mom and pop about 3 weeks ago. They have decided that they want a family get-together instead of a wedding reception. NO formality, just casual dress with some finger foods and desserts. They want the families to get to know each other. I am checking into some of the buildings around town and will send out invites to all of you, even if you can't come you will know that you were invited, welcome and wanted. Oh and by the way she LOVES to play skip-bo!! Another point for her, huh V?
So do you all forgive me for not writing? I certainly hope so & will try my hardest to keep everyone up to date on a quicker time schedule.
Love to you all,
Lisa
