Family Time
The best part of the reunion is always the time spent with family. It is always a little sad to leave. As our lives go on day to day, it is easy to get caught up in our own lives. Let's try to stay in touch.
.
.
Thanks so much to all of you who helped in the kitchen, with army day, and especially clean-up. My family had a great time and Rylan wants to know how many weeks until next year. I love you all and look forward to seeing you soon. Send me updates so I can post them. If you know anyone who doesn't know about the blog, let them know. Love, Amy
Happy Birthday, Mike!

You're Supposed To
The other day Rylan and I were playing together.
I said, "Rylan, I love you."
He replied, "I love you too Mom."
I asked, "Why do you love me?"
His reply, "We're family, we're supposed to love each other."
Isn't that why God gave us family? To love each other.
Love you,
Amy

Randy: ER visit
Was w/Randy in er last night. Had an immense amount of break-thru pain. Bless his heart, had a long talk w/him trying to get him to agree that he was going to have to slow down and take better care of himself. He promised to try harder which is all we can hope for. It was so hard to see him hurt so bad last night & it is also hard to see how badly the rest of the family hurts when he hurts especially Sherrill Wayne (who really needs our prayers also). Anyway, they gave him morphine and ativan ( he was having an anxiety attack also) and then sent him home w/instructions to TAKE IT EASY!!
Aunt Martha just called and his next appt w/oncologist is next Tuesday, 15th, will know more after that as to whether any of them will be able to attend family reunion.
Gotta get to work,
Luv you all,
Lisa

Countdown...2 weeks

Our Brother Randy
Well here is a joyful update concerning Randy. He was baptized this morning at church services. Needless to say there were some very joyful tears shed. Debbie & Sherrill were there too. Ray was at work but his family joined us for services also. Randy was hurting pretty bad & looked tired but otherwise things are going ok for him. Said that he goes back for a checkup in a couple of weeks, I tried to pinpoint down the time but too many people were around so I will see him tomorrow & find out.
Angels in heaven and Christians on earth rejoiced today!!
Luv ya,
Lisa

Minnie: x-rays results
Well here is a mom update!! Took her for her back x-rays today and there is NO fractures. She does have degenerative disc disease this is normal for her age and a very curved spine, which she has always had. She is just going to have to learn to take it a little slower and easier (yeah right, have been preaching that for the last few years). She is a very lucky woman not to have fractured her back with her fall on the 20th. She goes for her bone scan the 14th will send you all an update about that.
Also according to mom, she has dibs on the cook's room at the reunion and all she is going to do is sit on the porch in her comfortable chair & watch and talk to her family!! Told her she has earned that honor!!
Gotta go,
Luv ya,
Lisa

Randy: Set Back
Poor Randy has a huge backward's step. He started having quite a bit of pain Wednesday, right before he was to be released to come home & the doc prescribed him a shot of Thorazine (big mistake). Don't know if any of you remember how Grandpa Baysinger re-acted to it when they gave it to him but Randy has done the same thing. It basically sent him out in la-la land!! He has been delusional ever since they gave it to him. Needless to say it cancelled his release. They have kept him all today & may release him tomorrow only if he is back with us mentally. I just feel so saddened & sorry for him. Aunt Martha forgot to call & update me until this pm so now I am updating all of you.
Also mom goes for her back x-rays tomorrow & her bone scan on the 14th. Will let you all know when I know.
Love to you all,
Lisa
Lisa's Must-Haves
1. I agree a matt or (I use a disposable table cloth) (felt side up) by the side of my bed. Then you can throw it away on the last day. It's bad enough thinking there is a scorpion in there w/me, don't want to have to deal w/dirt.
2. A flash light for the late nite trips to & from the bathroom, can't step on some poor, unsuspecting rattlesnake or scorpion. You have to give them a fair shot to get out of the way.
3. Flip flops for the shower or while wading in the lake, too many beer bottles and trash in the lake to take the chance on a cut foot.
4. Camera to record all the posed and unposed for pictures.
5. Bug bombs (A BIG MUST HAVE), to get rid of all unwanted, unwelcome, and uninvited guests in your cabin BEFORE you move your stuff in.
6. A good book for that much looked forward to quiet time.
7. A good crafting project for the much looked forward to free/down time.
8. Plenty of band-aids, anitbiotic ointment, q-tips, general 1st aid stuff for the much anticipated and hopefully missed oopsies.
9. Tennis shoes for when you decide on going for that walk to the dam or up the mountain & you don't really want to get a lot of sand in your flip flops.
10. A really, really good appetite for all of the food that I will eat and mentally preparing for all the dishes that will need to be washed.
And here is an added thought, remember there will be happy and sad times at the reunion, someone always gets their feelings hurt and someone else will get mad. But look back on the years & remember the ones who are no longer with us and say a prayer of thanks for those of us who are still here and just thank the Good Lord above because we are FAMILY AND WE HAVE EACH OTHER!!
Amy's Must-Haves
In no particular order,
1. sunscreen: no sunburns for this girl or her little ones.
2. tennis shoes: after a day on the concrete floors, my legs hurt if I don't wear my tennis shoes.
3. lawn chairs: I like a comfy chair to sit in outside.
4. a bath mat or rug by my bed: I hate crawling in bed only to realize I had dirt on my feet and have now put it in the bed. A quick rub on the rug and I am dirt free.
5. flip flops: You must bring a pair of flip flops to wear in the shower. We all know the bathrooms are a little to be desired and a good pair of flip flops puts some space between you and the floor.
Now, it is your turn. Share with the rest of us your must-haves.

Randy: Going Home
Just got off the phone w/Aunt Martha, Ray & Debbie are on their way to the city to pick up Randy and bring him home. Dr. Stokes said that he would let him recover from this treatment and give him 1 more, no date set yet. Randy is now moving in w/Sherrill Wayne so he will be w/family during his recovery.
I will keep you all updated.
Luv ya,
Lisa
Minnie: Dr. Appt. for Back Pain
I promise to keep you all updated. You will know almost as soon as I do.
Gotta go,
Luv ya,
Lisa
Randy: Radiation Treatments
.
So far Randy has been doing wonderful w/his treatment. He has even surprised the doctors. He hasn't suffered the immense pain that usually accompanies this treatment. He has had more problems w/his acid reflux. If all goes well today, he will be released in the am. According to Dr. Stokes he will have to have at least 1 more treatment due to the largeness of the main tumor. He also has developed 2 small tumors in the right lobe of his liver so he is confident that 1 more treatment will completely kill all of the tumors off and then God Willing he will be put back at the top of the transplant list.
Keep up the prayers!!
Lisa
